Iraqi M80 Helmet

The Iraqi M80 helmet is a Cold War era combat helmet introduced in the 1980s and beyond. It became the standard helmet in Iraq during a period of major conflict and remained in use for decades.

The helmet features a one piece shell with an internal liner system closely based on later U.S. M1 liner designs, along with a simple chinstrap for retention. Typically finished in dark green, many examples were later overpainted in desert tones, often wearing down over time to reveal the original color underneath.

The M80 saw extensive use during the Iran–Iraq War, the Gulf War, and even into the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Many were originally manufactured in South Korea before local and regional production began.
