OG107 Utility Shirt

The Jungle Combat Uniform was developed during the 1960s as a specialized response to the demands of tropical warfare. Designed for use by the United States Army and other U.S. forces operating in Southeast Asia, it offered a lightweight and practical alternative to heavier field uniforms that proved unsuitable for hot, humid environments.

Constructed from breathable cotton poplin, the uniform was made to dry quickly and improve comfort in constant heat and moisture. Its design featured a shorter cut, slanted chest pockets for easier access, and adjustable elements that allowed for better mobility in dense jungle terrain. Early versions were issued in solid olive green, while later variants incorporated camouflage patterns better suited to the environment.

The Jungle Combat Uniform became closely associated with the Vietnam War, where it was widely used by infantry, airborne, and special operations units. Its lightweight construction and practical layout made it far more effective in jungle conditions than previous uniforms.
