The OCP ACU, or Operational Camouflage Pattern Army Combat Uniform, represents the modern standard of U.S. military camouflage and a direct response to lessons learned in earlier conflicts. Introduced in the mid 2010s, it replaced the UCP pattern with a more effective design featuring a blend of greens, browns, and tans that performs well across a wide range of environments.

The pattern itself is based on the Scorpion W2 design, offering improved concealment in both arid and temperate terrain. Unlike its predecessor, OCP was developed with adaptability in mind, providing better performance in real world conditions where landscapes and lighting can vary significantly.

The uniform retains the practical features introduced with earlier ACUs, including angled pockets, reinforced construction, and a layout designed to work seamlessly with modern equipment. Small refinements were also made to improve comfort and durability, reflecting feedback from soldiers in active service.
